Visitation for Frank Lemos, 90, Linwood, KS will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Private inurnment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville, KS. He passed away Tuesday December 6, 2016 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Frank was born December 3, 1926 in Coffeyville, KS the son of Mateo Genaro and Josefina (Romeo) Lemos.
Frank enlisted in the Merchant Marines in October of 1943 and began his naval training at the United States Coast Guard Training Center, Catalina Island, California. After completing his training, Frank served aboard the S.S. Horace See and the S.S. John P. Gill which carried Octane fuel and ammunition to the Aleutian Islands, Korea and North Africa. Fireman 1st Class, Lemos was discharged in June of 1945 and entitled to wear the USMM Defense WWII, USMM Atlantic War Zone WWII, USMM Pacific War Zone WWII, USMM Mediterranean War Zone WWII, and the USMM WWII Victory medals.
He worked for Sunshine Biscuit Company in the Baker Department.
He is survived by his sister, Madeline Barnard and partner, Mel; and one brother, Richard Lemos. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bill Lemos and Charles Lemos.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
