Funeral services for Eunice Louise Anderson Phillips, 97, Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Lawrence, Kansas. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
She died February 23, 2009 at her home in Lawrence.
She was born June 10, 1911 in Superior, Nebraska the daughter of Albert and Sadie Ellis Anderson.
She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1929. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband as a bookkeeper in the family contract painting business.
She was a long time member of the First Baptist church, a den mother, a Pink Lady with the Hospital Auxiliary and delivered Meals on Wheels. She was an avid bridge player.
She married Allen V. Phillips on June 12, 1929 in Lawrence, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1969.
Survivors include a son, Lewis A. and his wife, Carolyn H. Phillips of Lawrence; three grandchildren, Terrence A. and wife, Deanna Phillips; Constance A. and husband, Rick Soloway; Jon L. and wife, Vickie Phillips; three great grandchildren, Christopher Soloway, Madelyn Phillips, and Taylor Phillips.
The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials in her name to First Baptist Church in Lawrence and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
