Emily Krueger Grenke

Emily L Krueger Grenke, AKA super mom, AKA kind of a big deal, AKA queen of heels, AKA CWB.

Emily was born on January 5th, 1985, most likely in a pair of heels already on her feet in Lawrence, Ks. The daughter of Lawrence L. Seaman Jr. and Patrica A. (Krueger) Lanzrath. Emily passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday November 18th, 2021, at the age of 36 with her loving husband by her side and family. Her departure was just in time for her to make her spiritual appearance at the Nutcracker ballet that Emily and her family attended for the past 32 years.

If you knew Emily you would know that she loves, in this order… being a mother, her smoking hot husband, her family, her 2 dogs Rocco and Rocky, her heels, boxed wine, planning any and all events (especially her son’s birthday parties throughout the years), crafting (more specifically her Christmas mantel display) KU basketball, the Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners, (because she had too). and did I mention her heels?

Emily was a true fighter and exhibited the upmost strength and endurance throughout this very painful cancer. Emily was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer in September of 2020 and put up a courageous fight in the year to follow. Emily shined at being an inspiring mother, an amazing wife, a loving daughter and sister, and an all-time great friend.

Emily is survived by her loving husband Ray, her son Jacob, and stepchildren Megan and Raymond. All of which created a divided household of KU, Sooners, and Kstate fans.

Emily is also survived by her caring family Patricia A and Paul Lanzrath, sister Kelly Krueger-Seaman, stepbrother, Brian (Rose) Lanzrath, stepsister Tara Lanzrath, Grandmother Phyllis Sue Gill.
She is preceded in death by her father, grandparents, Lawrence L. Seaman Sr., Alton, and Patricia Krueger.
A visitation is scheduled from 9:00~11:00 AM, Monday, November 22nd, 2021, at Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Ks.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Monday, November 22nd, 2021, at Church of the Resurrection – Wesley Chapel in Leawood, Ks. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Lenexa, Ks.

Directly following the burial, you can join the family at Margaritas, which is located at 79th St. and Quivira Rd.

Memorial contribution may be made in Emily’s name to NCCC (Nation Cervical Cancer Coalition) and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St. Lawrence, Ks 66044.

Emily will always be the quintessential of what a loving, caring and genuine human being should be. Her spirit will always be with all of us and there’s no doubt in my mind that she will continue to infect every room she’s in with grace, laughter and love.

Emily was a sparkling child, always happy and with such a big heart. Her light was a huge presence in this world. I loved hearing “Emily stories” from her mom as she grew to be a beautiful woman and mother. Just days ago we walked by her old house and wondered how she was. My heart breaks for her loss. Prayers to Patti and Kelly and everyone she loved.

I am so sorry to hear about Emily’s passing. We had lost touch but I knew her from her volleyball reffing days in Roeland Park as she became a friend through that. Parties, a float trip or two, playing volleyball with our team.. she was a lovely person, beautiful inside and out. Blessings to all her family and friends.
