I remember Elva fondly from my years as a medical transcriptionist. I’ll never forget the time she came back from her trip to Hawaii with souvenirs for everyone in the department. Such a sweet lady.

We will miss Elva, her hugs, her prayers, and words of encouragement to everyone.
Elva was quietly busy in the “background” of things she saw to be done so she did them in church and in the community. Yet she was a woman who would speak up and give a testimony to her faith and love of God.
I know she has prayed for her family members through the years. She really missed Louie. One day another woman and I were cleaning the Parsonage with Elva. We stopped to rest and Elva talked of Louie, their families, their trips, their love and faith. It was a privilege to be with her listening to those memories. Blessings to each one of you, Elizabeth (Weeks) Woods

The world has lost a wonderful person. Over 40 years ago, I walked into Lawrence Memorial Hospital-Elva was the woman that hired me. She introduced me to the world of medical records-now Health Information Management. She fairly managed the department and created an atmosphere that balanced fun and professionalism. She met the challenges of life with an unmatched humor. My deepest sympathies to her family. Blessings to all-she loved you so much.

  16. Brian Winslow on November 21, 2021 at 6:36 pm

I have thought of you all so much since i heard Elvie had passed. She was my dear friend and client for well over 35 years. We had so many great times and fun visits. At one time she organized a special birthday party in the Beauty Shop for another client and friend that came right before her every week. (Violet Gerstenburger Flemming) They always enjoyed visiting with eachother so i made sure to have their appts next to each other in the Beauty Shop. One time their appts just happen to fall on Violets Birthday, and as a supprise, here came Elvie with cake, punch, a special gift and all! We had fun. Violet spoke of that supprise party so often. Thats the kind of person Elvie was. She will be greatly missed and we were all so lucky to have had her in our lives. Take Care and God Bless, Brian W.
