I’m so deeply saddened for your loss.
My heart goes out to the family of Elbert, Jr. He & 2 other neighborhood kids (including our daughter) played together often when they were young & I made sure to have sugar-free snacks on hand for him. He was always kind and, after watching him grow up, he remained that way. Words provide little solace at this time & feel meaningless in the face of the pain you must be feeling.

There are so many things I can say about him. He made such a huge impact in my life and he will be missed dearly. Ill never forget when I first met him and first started dating him he and I discussed our nicknames. It took him forever to tell me his was Boo! He knew mine was pumpkin, soon, a lot of my friends knew that because after his smile always came a “Pumpkin” In the hallways of CJHS.
If you knew Elbert, you knew love. Thats for sure. With a smile that could brighten any room.
To Ms. Gloria and Mr. Davis I hope you guys know you raised an amazing young man. He may not be here with us in the flesh, but his spirit will forever live on.
    RIP, Boo
    until we meet again
    Love forever

I’m so sorry to hear this. Elbert visited me often in the CJHS Library, and always had a smile. He was kind and generous, even as a teenager.
