A Visitation for Donald Eugene Church, 83, Eudora, KS, will be held 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, Kansas. Donald passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Medicalodges in Eudora, KS.
Donald was born on September 11, 1937 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Guy Leslie and Neva (Stowe) Church.
Survivors include his siblings, Earl Church, Orville (Mary Jane) Church, Sue (Gary) Church, three nephews and one niece.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in law, Carol Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s name to The Eudora United Methodist Church or VFW Post 852 and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
I always enjoyed Don when he lived at Babcock Place, his stories of North Lawrence and growing up when Lawrence was a smaller community. My young son was entranced by the idea that this was the same town he was growing up in. Don’s laugh was infectious and lightened the mood in any room.

I’m so sorry to hear of Donnie’s passing. We have so many good memories from my living near you guys on Elm Street. W e had many good memories back in the mid to late Sixties. Donnie drove me to pick up my first date, dropped us off at the Granada Theatre, and picked us up after the movie, while I was in Ninth grade. He could really hit that softball, when played many years at the ball games. Was it Dunbar he played for? I think he drove the dump truck for that company for many years.
