Dèvontè needs to be remembered for his amazing personality, smile and laugh. The light in his eyes, the silly things he would do at random times. If you were crying he would put his hand on your face and console you and put a smile back on your face. The moment we fell pregnant with him he changed our lives forever and every minute, every second we had with him on this Earth is something that will be cherished. We knew what an amazing gift god had given us. Our son’s life was for a purpose. He went out of this world with love from his mommy and daddy and that love is the true love I will never forget. I never knew true love until I held my baby in my arms. I never knew you could love a human being so much that you never met. Our son was smart, funny, and so loving and caring. When his daddy would show him how to do something he would remember how to play with his toys, open a drawer, or go throw his diaper away and he would clap his hands because he was proud of his accomplishments. He was so caring that if he saw me not eating he would feed me before himself. He loved Oreo’s, and Reese’s peanut butter cups those were his favorite sweets. He loved his cars, and trucks and recently became interested in trains. His life made an impact on everyone who met him and played with him or spent time with him. His memory will continue and never be forgotten. He will forever be missed and be our angel in the sky. Fly high my angel until we are reunited in paradise.

Devonte touched everyone in my family. We first met him at VBS and enjoyed watching him grow through Sunday School. He has had a positive impact on everyone he met. Godspeed, young man.
