Memorial services for Delores “Dee” Elizabeth Guy, 71, Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Private Inurnment will be held at a later date. She passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at her home.
Dee was born April 14, 1945 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Elmer Eugene and Mary Ruth (Dressler) Holladay.
She was a member of the Jayhawk Club in Topeka.
She married Ronald “Ron” Eugene Guy, January 18, 1962 in Oskaloosa, KS. He preceded her in death November 29, 1997.
She was a title clerk at Laird Noller Ford in Lawrence until she retired.
She enjoyed Hawk Talk, music, popcorn, reading, being with her family, growing tomatos, and of course being at the casino!
Survivors include her son, Samuel Guy and his children, Sean Guy and wife, Kim, and their children, Jonathan and Carter Guy, and Shalia Guy; and Samuel’s girlfriend, Ronna Blocker and her children, Dallas Blocker, Kourtni Blocker, Steven Blocker and wife, Carmela, and their two children, Cody and Nevaeh Moses; three sisters, Freda Schmitt, Clara Anderson, Betty Holladay; and three brothers, Calvin Holladay, Willie Holladay, and Ralph Holladay. She was also preceded in death by Ella Souders, Eugena Mullin, and Bertha Daniel.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Delores’s home -2728 Meadow Dr. Lawrence, KS.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Charity of Donor’s Choice and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

So sorry for your loss. She was like another Aunt to me, arms open for a hug every time I saw her. She will be missed.
