Graveside service for Danny Kaye Blockburger, 71, Lawrence will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery. He died May 18, 2017 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 12, 1946 in Lawrence, Kansas the son of Henry Blockburger and Dorothy Silvers-Robinson.
Danny was a consumer at Cottonwood Inc. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, westerns and Art.
Survivors include his sister, Gale Leaños, Lawrence; three nieces including, April Treviño, Lawrence; two nephews; four great nieces; 10 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Mayhugh; two sisters, Donna Place and Peggy Edwards and his mother.
The family will greet friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, May 22, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Lawrence Senior Center and/or Lawrence Art Center to be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

I worked with Danny at the downtown Pizza Hut many years ago. It makes me smile thinking about him and those times. Rest In Peace, Danny.
Other survivors are 3 Half brothers, Henry L. Blockburger, Ronald Blockburger, Jeffrey Blockburger, Two Half Sisters, Susan Starkey, Wanda Owen. 8 Nieces and Nephews, 4 Great Nieces and Nephews. I never got to meet my uncle or his side of the family. May he Rest In Peace.
