Daniel Mark Wooden

Funeral services for Daniel Mark Wooden, 20, of Perry, KS, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Heritage Baptist Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Daniel passed away on Monday, October 1, 2024.

Daniel was born on October 26, 2003, in Lawrence, KS, the son of Michael David and Nicole Renee (Jump) Wooden.

He was a vibrant young man with an electric personality, always greeting everyone with a smile. Daniel never took anything personally and was known for his generous spirit—he was the biggest giver in the world. Friends and family recall countless stories of his selflessness, whether it was giving his time or a thoughtful gift. He often reached out with calls or texts just to check in, touching the lives of many with his kindness.

Daniel had a passion for music, possessing a remarkable talent for playing the piano by ear. He wrote several songs and loved sharing his musical gift with others. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and had a keen entrepreneurial spirit, having a talent for buying low and selling high.

After graduating from high school, Daniel attended Heritage Baptist College. After college, he found his sweet spot through being an independent contractor; with this, he put so many of his talents to work. Daniel excelled in meeting and connecting with people, building strong relationships through his work and church involvement.

He was a devoted member of Heritage Baptist Church, where his faith was an integral part of his life.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Michael and Nicole Wooden of Perry; brothers, Michael D. Wooden Jr., Isaac J. Wooden, and Matthew J. Wooden; and sisters, Melissa A. Conner and Tina M. Wooden. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary and Josefa Jump, and Virgil and Charlet Wooden.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

Memorial contributions may be made in Daniel’s name to Warren-McElwain Mortuary to help the family with expenses and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

Daniel’s ability to connect with anyone and his unwavering generosity will be remembered by all who knew him. He touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the church.
