My mother enjoyed working at LMH with “Tankersley” The nurses always called each other by their last names. They worked together for many years. They were friends at work and church. I love the picture you chose. I love that you shared she was the last to wear the winged nurses’ cap. I will keep your family in my prayers.
I also knew “tanky” from LMH way back when we both worked there. She had a nice long life for sure. She always had a smile on her face and was so friendly to all.
The times I have talked to her on phone or seen her elsewhere, she still always remembered me. Yes about her cap, now the Registered Nurses never wear their hats at work. guess too much trouble? I don’t know. most never wear the traditional
I also remember “tanky” from way back years when we both worked at LMH. She always had a smile on her face and was always friendly. I know she will be missed by her family and friends. she did live a nice long life tho. 98 years is a long time.
speaking of her hat she wore at work, now days don’t think any RN wears theirs.
any time I called her or saw her she still always remembered me by name.
she was dedicated to her work .
