Charlie Groat

Charlie Groat, 54, Lecompton died February 12, 2023 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS.

He was born July 7, 1968 in Riverside, CA the son of Terry Groat and Kathleen Bowles Kretschmar.

Charlie graduated from Riverside High School.  He enjoyed playing softball with his girls and loved keeping up with the news. Charlie was definitely an outdoors kind of guy, making sure he tended to the garden, and made sure his girls had beautiful flowers to enjoy all summer long. He spent as much time as he could hanging out outside as that was his happy place. If he wasn’t there, you would catch him listening to podcasts and spending as much time as he could with his family. 

He married Grace on June 7, 2014 in Lawrence, KS.  She survives of the home. He would have considered that to be the best thing he ever did, as he always said she saved him and made him a better man. They had two beautiful girls together who he adored dearly. 

Other survivors include his daughters, Jessika Stewart, of California, Katelynn Groat, and Emilynn Groat, of Lecompton Kansas,  and his brother, Michael Aman, of Lecompton Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
