Betty Sue Wallace Kinser

Betty Sue Wallace Kinser (“Momm”) passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2021, under hospice care at the age of 87.

Betty was born in Freeman, MO, on Oct 22, 1933, to Gilbert W. Wallace and Carrie Aleene (Shaler) Wallace, and was the oldest of seven children. She grew up in Freeman, MO, Wyconda, MO, Odessa, MO, and Carrollton, MO. She married James Henry “Budd” Kinser on January 30, 1955, in Kansas City, MO, with whom she raised four boys: Mikel (Sallie) of Danville, CA; Kirte (Leslie) of Frisco, TX; Jason (Sue Ellen) of Bristow, VA; and Colby (Lynne) of Overland Park, KS.

Betty had a newspaper column on sewing for many years and owned and operated a sewing shop in Blue Springs, MO. Her passion was writing fiction and poetry, but her priority was always family.

She is survived by her children, eight grandchildren (Niki, Stacie, Kaitie, Rebekah, Sarah, Crew, Johann, and Jacob), honorary granddaughter Bertha, five great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Gil, Jim, Ann, E.A., and Gerry. She is preceded in death by her husband Budd, her sister Donna, and her granddaughter, Anna Danielle.

    Your Mother leaves a legacy of love and family. She also reached others through her writing and her sewing connections.
