Funeral services for Benjamin Joshua “Josh” Johnson, 35, Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. He passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 in Leavenworth.
Josh was born December 6, 1980 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Lee and Kimberly L. Johnson Hughes.
He was self-employed and a rock to family and friends. He was always ready to help in any way needed.
Survivors include his wife, Cassandra Loraine (Kennedy) Johnson; daughter, Ariyah “mush mush” Johnson; son, Xavier “bubs” Johnson; grandmother, Ruby Jones; two sisters, Shannan Johnson, Alia Hughes; one brother, Aaron Hughes; two aunts; three uncles; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16th at the mortuary.
I didn’t get to know him I only met him once or twice but he made me smile and called me sis . I’m so sorry for your loss . I really wish there was something more I could say to comfort all of you . May you all find comfort and strength in each other and the love your family has. He may be gone but never forgotten
Kim….Shannon, Alea, Aaron….and family….I’m so sorry for your pain. Please know my heart is heavy for you today and in all days to come. May you find peace in remembering all the good times with Josh and seeing him shine through his children.

Man I don’t know what happened and I don’t need to. All I know is you will be missed. This man was always there for anyone that needed him. Some of that help came without being asked. He was a real friend to almost everyone. You will. E missed doughboy.
