I am so sorry to read of Barbs passing. We were partners in crime during our years at LHS. Doing “King Lear” and other productions in the Theatre department together, seeing a multitude of movies and sharing our love of classic hollywood. She was quite the actress. I remember shooting the square in Lawrence about 100 times a night while listening to the soundtrack of Xanadu and drinking extra large Dr. Peppers from Burger King that we kept refilling. Those were the days. While we both lived in LA, we had lost touch. She moved back to Lawrence and I to Kansas City. And while we hadent talked for several years, I have wonderful memories of her. Now she is pain free and meeting and talking with ALL her favorite “stars” from old Hollywood. Beverly, Nelson and Joan please accept my heartfelt condolences. I am sending you prayers of strength for the coming days and I take solace in knowing she’s in a better place. She was quite a gal. One of a kind!

    Dear Van Dyke Family-
I’m so sorry to hear about Barb. I have such fun memories growing up next-door. I remember helping Barb with her paper route and then going to Kwik Shop for candy afterwards. It was so fun. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. Van Dyke, I am so sorry to hear about Barbara’s passing. I worked with her at Burger King for a long time and spent a night at your house watching Prince Charles and Princess Diana get married back in 1981.
