Barbara Ellen Milliken

Memorial services for Barbara Ellen Milliken, 82, Eudora will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel in Eudora. Inurnment will follow at Eudora Cemetery. Barbara passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at her home.

Barbara was born on October 28, 1938 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Harold Clifford and Lavone Eustatia (Malcolm) Milliken.

In her youth she loved playing baseball, track, gymnastics, swimming, cheerleading, fencing, tennis and time on her grandparent’s farm. She loved nature and animals.

Her career with Santa Fe Railroad spanned 40 years where she was a Senior Systems Analyst and Manager.

In her retirement she loved drawing, puzzles, church, gardening, camping, fishing, playing cards, researching family history and being with her family. She accomplished her dream of visiting every state and her family’s ancestral lands of Ireland and Scotland.

Survivors include her two sons, Christopher Jay (Amanda) Ellis, Eudora, Clifford William Ellis, Colorado; three grandchildren, Tess Cloud, Topeka, Elorah and Benjamin Ellis. She was preceded in death by sister, Patricia J. Mize; brother, John H. Milliken and granddaughter, Isabelle Ellis.

Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to Lawrence Humane Society or to the Eudora United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

    Our deepest sympathies to your family. Barbara was a wonderful neighbor and was a special lady. Smart and the sweet lady. We miss her. Big hugs all around. She is at peace now.

    Barbara was an outstanding teenager at Seaman Rural Highschool. Class of”56″.
    I knew her and brother John as school mates at SH. After years of going their own ways their together again.
