Family graveside inurnment for Arlene Evelyn Harbaugh, 77, Oskaloosa, KS will be held at a later date at Louisville Cemetery in Louisville, KS. She passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Arlene was born May 20, 1938 in Wamego, KS the daughter of Howard Grant and Hazel Evelyn (Allen) Townsend.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for 35 years working overseas as a Navy Nurse and at Lawrence Memorial Hospital during the 60’s, Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, and Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and playing the piano and the organ.
She married Albert Arthur Harbaugh November 15, 1980 in Lawrence, KS. He preceded her in death December 29, 2007.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim Gamble, Oskaloosa; three sons, Howard DuHaime, Spokane, WA, David DuHaime, Seattle, and Albert DuHaime, Oskaloosa; a stepdaughter, Kerry Martinez, Shawnee; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and brother Armand “Sonny” Grant Townsend.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
