  6. Christopher Luckey on January 11, 2011 at 12:00 am

I met Travis while working at the movie theater – we were hired at roughly the same time in-fact. In the course of the knowing him he grew into one of my most important friends – one who shared enthusiasm for what we held in common and was always willing to show me new opportunities. His potentiality was only out-weighed by his kindness towards everyone. There will only be a fragmented version of who I could have been without his presence in my life.

  7. Kelly Thomas on January 11, 2011 at 12:00 am

  10. Robyn Lee on January 11, 2011 at 12:00 am

Travis and I worked together at the movie theater. His nickname was T-rabbit, because he was so excitable. One of my favorite memories was in his first year at the theater and we were all told not to ever let Travis have coffee. At work I treated him like a little brother, sometimes I teased him a bit much, but he always seemed to forgive me for it. After I quit the theater I lost touch with Travis, only seeing him around town, but he always greeted me with a smile. He was a good person, a great projectionist and always forgiving of my insensitivity. He will be missed.

I met Travis while working at the movie theater. He was so excitable but always happy. The joy when he discovered something knew, even if it was old news to everyone else, could put a smile on your face. I lost touch with Travis after I quit the movie theater and became even more distanced when I moved away to Kansas City. I regret not knowing him better and feel that we have truly lost a beautiful soul. I would love to be able to hear his unique, spirited laugh again. It’s eternally pizza time T-Rabbit, hope you are enjoying every minute of it up there in that big projection booth in the sky.

Travis was an amazing person. I struggle with the thought of his passing. I was fortunate enough to grow up down the street from the Hall family.I remember times, while visiting their home, having in-depth conversations with Travis about batman or what films were showing. He was a great person and will be missed. We love you all and our thoughts are with you.

I think I speak for all of us at the theater when I say we have lost a close friend and the world, not to mention our little theater, is much worse for it. His enthusiasm for the film industry was unbridled and his passion shown through in every shift he was with us. While he might sometimes be frustrated or upset, he never let himself become jaded. He never succumbed to the apathy that so many others slipped into and the excitement he always brought with him was truly a rare and wonderful thing. I am proud to have worked with him. I am proud to think that he called me his friend. He will be sorely missed.

Travis was like a brother to me. He was always in high spirits and could match your enthusiasm for anything. He was fun, caring, and excited. Always excited! I remember the night he stayed with us in Kansas City, he couldn’t stop cracking the pecans, and there were shells all over the house. I miss him so much.

Travis was a very special person. He caught my attention the first time I saw him at Lawrence High. I was lucky to get to know him and to have him play the role he did in my life. The relationship I had with Travis taught me a lot. I feel saddened and regretful that I did not find out about this tragedy sooner. I would have been there to support his family. My deepest and sincerest apologizes.
