Ruth Schiefelbusch

Memorial services for Ruth Magee Schiefelbusch, 89, Lawrence will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence.  She died February 19, 2010 at Presbyterian Manor.

She was born June 11, 1920, Deaver, Wyoming the daughter of Dr. James Darwin and June (Reed) Magee.

Mrs. Schiefelbusch worked as a Speech Therapist for the Lawrence School District. She was a secretary and board member of Douglas County Senior Services.  She enjoyed her volunteer work at  Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and for other organizations and clubs.  She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where she was involved in the Women’s Groups and Stephen Ministries.

She married Richard Schiefelbusch September 20, 1941 in Elko, Nevada. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Carol (Dan) McMillin of Topeka, KS; Jeanie Schiefelbusch (Gary Fenton) of Prairie Village, KS; son, Larry (Rhonda) Schiefelbusch of Chesterton, Indiana; a sister Mickey Rogers of Sun City, Arizona; six grandchildren, one step-grandson, four great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.

The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Stephen Ministries c/o Plymouth Congregational and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
