Ruth Norman

Funeral services for Ruth Norman, 82, of Eudora, Kansas will be held 2 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2009 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Eudora.  Burial will be in the Eudora Cemetery. 

Mrs. Norman died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at her home in Eudora, Kansas.

 

She was born March 12, 1926 in Newnada, Arkansas, the daughter of Philip and Anna Lon (Grower) Roper.  Following both her parents death, she was adopted and raised by Francis Luther and Molly Mae Long.

 

She was a graduate of Mountain View High School in 1944.

 

She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Eudora since moving there in 1967 from DeSoto.  She had worked for Hercules Army Ammunition Plant for four years.

 

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Eudora, where she was very active in church groups.

 

She was married to Clarence Norman on May 7, 1946 in Oxley, Arkansas.  He survives of Eudora.

 

Other survivors include two daughters, Yolanda Thomas of Tonganoxie, Kansas and Connie Beach and her husband, Rick of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Bryan and Nichole Thomas, Tana Campbell, Brandi, Adam, Kelli and Jami Beach and ten great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel in Eudora.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Missouri Kansas Chapter of American Liver Foundation and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
