Ruby Adams

Private family graveside inurnment services for Ruby Verna Adams, 89, Lawrence will be held at a later date at Pioneer Cemetery.  She took flight into the Heavens with the birds and passed away December 12, 2010 at Brandon Woods at Alvamar in Lawrence.  She was a nice decent caring person.

She was born July 19, 1921 in Arkansas City, Kansas the daughter of Jack and Verna (Moore) Ashland.

She was a Microbiologist and worked for the University of Kansas.

She was a member of University of Kansas Alumni Club.

She married Melvin E. “Mel” Adams on November 11, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on March 27, 1999.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Adams in 2003.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Liles and grandson, Blake Liles of Longmont, Colorado.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to KU Endowment Association for the Microbiology Department and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
