  13. Barb Henry on June 19, 2012 at 9:40 pm

    Dear Ken and Family,

I am truly saddened to learn of the loss of Rowena. She was an amazing woman, a role model for the young women and ladies of our church and a very special friend to me. I talked about and looked forward to seeing Rowena at church when I was a young girl and I continued to seek her out when at church while visiting home when I lived away and again, upon my return to Lawrence several years ago. I loved Rowena and enjoyed visiting with her. I will forever cherish the memories of Rowena’s beautiful smile that always reached all the way up to her twinkling eyes, her kind manner and careful way of listening and the interest she always showed in me.

In your time of grief, may stories about the wonders of her life and tales about the special joy, warmth and strength she brought to others give you much comfort indeed.

I regret that I will not be able to attend services to convey my condolences in person but please know that Rowena will always, always hold a very special place in my heart.

My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

    In sympathy,

    Barb Henry

Rowena was referred to by many I knew as “a peach of a person”. She certainly was that. I am so glad I got to see her at Annual Conference. She looked so pretty!
