Robert Joseph McPherson “Mac”, 85, died at The Presbyterian Manor, Lawrence KS, on July 16, 2012. Inurnment will be at a later date in Maine.
He was born October 17, 1926, in Buffalo, NY, son of Thomas A. and Anna May (Gallagher) McPherson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John McPherson, Madison WI.
Bob was a graduate of Freeport High School and a WWII Veteran (Navy). He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and the History Channel. He spent most of his life in Freeport Illinois and in February 2011, he moved to Presbyterian Manor, Lawrence, Kansas to be closer to family.
Survivors include his daughters, MaryJo Anemaat and her husband Willem of Lawrence Kansas, and Pamela Jo Lenz and her husband Robert of Gray, Maine; grandchildren, Denise R. Crawford and Melinda J. Crawford-Morgan, Tonganoxie KS, Jennifer L. Middleton and Jessica A. Lenz, Maine; great grandchildren, Samantha L. Middleton, Kacie May Middleton, and Caden L. Middleton of Maine, and Chase Robert Elliott, Tonganoxie KS and brother Thomas McPherson of Buffalo, NY.
The family suggests memorials in his name to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Very sorry about the passing of “Mac”. He was amember here for 38 years. I am wondering if the family would like flowers sent or if they would like that money added to his memorial? Thanks, Wayne Artman, Secretary
I have so many memories of Mac. So many steak frys and supervisor meetings. At his retirement party his lead inspector told the story how Mac had changed thru the years. When she started there his advice was if you are in doubt through it out. and then it changed to if you don’t know let it go.
My sympathy to his family
In the few short years Mac and I worked together, I’d like to think we became good friends. I’ll never forget his laugh and his good natured approach to life on a daily basis. And I had the good fortune of living only a few blocks from him and on the same street as daughter Pam. I can still see Mac coming down our street on that little yellow scooter of his and honking the horn like crazy. The only thing louder than the horn was Mac’s laugh.
A wonderful person, great friend, and loving family person. We’ll miss Mac and his Old Blue Stories.

I had the pleasure of working with Mac many years at Micro Swith. He was my Mentor, from the time I started as a Machine Operator,up until the time I left as a Production Supervisor. He was a very delightful and well liked individual. He also was true Friend of mine. The Family has my heartfelt sympathy

I was sorry to hear that Mac had passed away. Mac and I worked together at Micro Switch. He was great guy with a great sense of humor. My condolance to the family.
