He was a founding member of the Douglas County Quail Unlimited chapter.  Rounding that out, was his membership in Ducks Unlimited.  He often served as a source of information for Mike Pierce (Sports) of the Lawrence Journal World for many years. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Dick was a Master Mason in Doric Lodge #83 in Eudora, KS.  He received his 32nd degree status with the Scottish Rite Valley of Salina.  He was a past member of Isis & Abdallah Shrine.

Most sincere condolences to the family of Dick Hamilton. We had barbered together at Hillcrest Barbershop when A.E.Hall was the owner. Dick was a most colorful character and had many fans who came just for his haircut and enlightening conversation.
    My love to you all.
    Sincerely,
    Loren
