Raymond Teichmann

 

Funeral service for Raymond A. Teichmann, 79, Lawrence, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2009, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  He died October 27, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 31, 1930, in Atchison, KS the son of Adolph and Hazel (Coffey) Teichmann.

Mr. Teichmann was a Corporal in the U.S. Army.  He served as a telecommunications specialist stationed in Hawaii during the Korean War.  He was self employed in sales at L.B. Price.  He later worked at Packer Ware. Mr. Teichmann was employed and retired as a custodian from the University of Kansas.

He married Julia M. McBride on July 19, 1960, in St. Joseph, MO.  She preceded him in death on December 25, 1999.

Survivors include four sons, Roger Lee, Lonney Ray, Kenneth Allen, all of Lawrence Christopher Paul, and wife, Krystal, Leavenworth; two sisters, Audry Stanton, California and Connie Chalfant, Easton, KS; eleven grandchildren, Brian, Laura, Anthony, Rachelle, Keith, Lindsay, Kristin, Tracy, Kurtis, Wendi, Cory, and nine great-grandchildren.  He was proceeded in death by a brother, Leroy Teichmann in December 2008.

The family will greet friends from 2 to 4p.m. Sunday, November 1 at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Alzheimer’s Association, Heart of America Chapter and sent in care of the mortuary.
