It was a lovely service on Monday – you all did a wonderful job of capturing and commemorating your dad. He was indeed a colorful character, and like his brothers, wore a very gruff exterior to mask a very soft heart. I have many fond memories of him. Things were never dull when he was around!

Dear Jenkins family, I wanted to pass along my condolances on the passing of Jenks. He was a friend of my dad (Roy Easum) and my uncles. I remember many times Jenks doing work at the house, or visiting job sites with dad where Jenks was working.

Jenks was truely one of a kind and a great friend to the boys in the Easum family.

    Regards,
    Mike Easum

I would like to say that I don’t know what “great heart” you all saw in him. He was my grandfather. Who when I called him at the nursing home thought I was the other Sarah. He let Larry do drugs in the house and took me to Boone’s and the bar all the time. He even had me wake up early in the morning and drive him at 8 or 10 years old to go bail Larry out of jail because he couldnt see at night and was too drunk. Or like my Uncle Danny trying to make it look like he babysat me out of the “kindness” in his heart-such bull crap. He was paid every week by my parents, and kept everything that happened quiet so they didnt loose the booze money. I remember him telling me that if I didnt stop doing whatever was bad at the time that he was going to chase me down and beat my a$$. What kind of a “caring” grandfather/person do you get out of that. Also, whomever had last say on the obituary…can kiss my behind. Leave my part of the family out because we arent blood related. I was furious. Its all about Danny, David, and Dennis. The three people that lived far away on purpose so they didnt have to deal with him. They know the truth as much as I do. I understand the compasion you all had because he had recently been deceased; but please can we all be honest here?? (BTW: I dont care who this offends. It is the truth…and it feels good to get it off my chest.)
