Ralph Fitch

 

 

 

Memorial service for Ralph “Bud” E. Fitch, 75, Lawrence will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Private inurnment will take place in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mr. Fitch died May 9, 2010 at his home.

He was born on June 12, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Elmer and Mable Fitch. 

 He retired in 1993 from the Board of Public Utilities in Kansas City, Kansas after 34 years. He was a Mason in the Argentine Lodge in Kansas City. He was an avid golfer and a member of Eagle Bend Golf Course. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1958 during the Korean War. 
 
He married Sue Brown on January 19, 1963 in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives of the home. 
 
Other survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Escue and husband, Montgomery, Orlando, Florida; one son, Scott Fitch, Lawrence; one brother, Robert Fitch, Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister, Betty Babcock, Kansas City, Kansas; two grandchildren, David and Elizabeth Escue. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Fitch.  
 
Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    To Bud’s family. Bud and I go all the way back to Stanley Grade School. He was always a good friend of mine. Bud was a bit quiet, but still a lot of fun and pleasant to be around. He’s always been an A-1 guy – I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
