RG Lamb

Funeral services for RG Lamb, 91, Lawrence, KS, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  He died on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

RG was born on August 5, 1921 in Rudy, AR the son of Moses and Edna Walker Lamb.

He worked at Coop as a union president until he retired.

He was a member of the Masons, VFW Alford-Clarke Post #852, and American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post #14.

He married Virginia Lawhorn on August 14, 1948 in Tulsa, OK.  She survives of the home. 

Other survivors include one son, Roger Lamb; one son-in-law, John Van Nice, Lawrence; two grandchildren, Jason Van Nice, Brandon Van Nice; one great grandchild, Ostin Van Nice; one sister, Joy D. Palmer, Broken Arrow, OK.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Van Nice in 2006.

The family will greet friends on Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the mortuary. 

The family suggests memorials in his name to the Epilepsy Foundation, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
