Pauline Harvey

A private inurnment for Pauline G. Harvey, 86, Lawrence, will be at a later date in Memorial
Park  Cemetery.  She died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
She was a longtime resident of Lawrence.

Pauline was born on August 19, 1923 in Parsons, Kansas, the daughter of George and Stamata Pappas.  She graduated from Parsons High School and Pittsburg State College, and spent her career as an elementary school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Herk” Harvey, filmmaker with Centron Corporation, and their beloved dog Rocky. 

Survivors include: siblings Evelyn Dowling, Edmond, OK; Patricia Callahan, Bella Vista, AR;  and Tony Pappas, Santa Monica, CA;  as well as three nephews and two nieces, including Tricia Venters, Lawrence, KS. 

Memorials in her name may be made to: Lawrence Humane Society, the Salvation Army or
the Lawrence Community Shelter and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    I was so sorry to learn of Pauline’s passing. She and Herk were close friends of my parents, Leonard Schneider and Jo Anna Clift, and I knew Pauline for most of my life. She was one of a kind, a loyal friend, and a good soul. She will be greatly missed.
