Paul Oelschlaeger

Funeral services for Paul D. Oelschlaeger, 86, Eudora will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Eudora United Methodist Church.    Burial will follow in the Eudora Cemetery.    He died March 19, 2010 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Paul was born December 4, 1923 in Linwood, KS the son of Charles E. and Essie Florence (Pouppirt) Oelschlaeger.

He served his country during World War II in the Army as a Tech Sgt.

He worked as a carpenter, machinist, and owned & operated several local businesses.

He was a member of the Eudora United Methodist Church and the Odd Fellow Lodge.

He married Doris F. Babcock on October 20, 1947 in Tonganoxie, KS.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Delores (Alan) Votaw of Eudora, KS; Judy (Walter) Crawford, Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Melvin (Fay) of Branson, MO; Vernon (Edith) of Lawrence, KS; six grandchildren, Darrin, Christopher, Eric, Shelley, Travis, Dustin and twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Coker.

The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel.

    I’m so sorry that neither Dustin nor I were able to attend the services. He was a wonderful man and I’m so glad that I knew him. Wish we would have gotten to visit more.
