Montana Huslig

 

A Memorial Mass for Montana “Tana” Bennett Huslig, 58, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.   Monsignor Vince Krische will officiate. Private burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Huslig died Friday, October 23, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Montana was born January 15, 1951, at Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA, the daughter of John and Lorraine Rolfes Bennett.  She had been a Lawrence resident for over 33 years.

Tana earned a Masters Degree in Entomology from the University of Kansas.  She worked as a graduate secretary in the German Department at the University of Kansas.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the First Friday Mystery Book Club and a knitting group at the Yarn Barn.

Montana married Michael Huslig in Lawrence, KS on October 4, 1980.  He survives of the home.

Other survivors include: her daughter Sara, Seattle, WA; her son John, Lawrence, KS; her mother, Lorraine Bennett, Colorado Springs, CO and her sister, Lori Van West, Denver, CO.  She was preceded in death by her father, John.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Lawrence Public Library or the Lawrence Humane Society and sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
