Funeral services for Michelle Renée Palmer, 35, Lawrence, KS, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Lawrence Free Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.
She died on Friday, March 20, 2009 at her home.
Ms. Palmer was born November 17, 1973 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Fred and Linda Karnes Evans.
She was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1990. She attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. She received a medical technologist degree and became a certified nurses’ aide, both in Springfield, MO. She received her certification as a massage therapist from the Pinnacle Institute in Lawrence. While attending college in Missouri, she sang and did comedy in the Branson area.
She was a member of the Mustard Seed Fellowship in Lawrence.
Ms. Palmer was a certified massage therapist and a homemaker.
She was married to Francis Palmer in 2003 in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Storm Josiah Palmer, of the home, her father and stepmother, Fred & Sheila Evans, of Lexington, NE, her mother and stepfather, Linda and JR Condra, of Lawrence, two brothers; Sean Evans and Coleman Evans, both of Lexington, NE, maternal grandmothers, Betty Karnes and Marjory Evans, both of Topeka, KS and her paternal grandfather, Fil Evans, of Grove, OK. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tasmin Moriah Palmer in 2006.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Michelle R. Palmer Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the church, prior to services.
