Mary Barnes

Graveside services for Mary Virginia “Jenny” Barnes, 59, Lawrence, KS will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Roach Cemetery in Rolla, MO.  She died on Wednesday evening, September 1, 2010 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born on July 15, 1951 in Rolla, Missouri, the daughter of John F. & Erma Mae Elms Barnes.

Ms. Barnes worked as an electronics assembler at Allied King Radio, formerly in Lawrence, KS.

She had attended the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include four sisters; Virgie Farmer, of Eudora, KS, Kay Opper, of Lawrence, KS, Patricia Bailey, of Topeka, KS, and Linda Buckins, of Georgia, two brothers; Lee R. Barnes, of Kansas City, KS and Johnny Barnes, of Lawrence, KS.  She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the Jenny Barnes Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

    Jenny, no words can describe how painful it was to see you struggle your last few hours.. watching that will always strike my heart.. My dear friend, you would give any and everything down to your last, just to be the person who you are.. The most caring beautiful soul I know. We known each other for years. I will miss our talks, planting, laughs, and of course mainly the friendship.. Your one of a KIND lady! I know your a Angel and the good Lord has you up there smiling down and giving us blessings here on earth.. Just wanted you to know that I loved ya girl! Like we always made sure to say each time we went on with our day.. RIP You are always going to be thought of! MISSING YOU!!
