Martha Robb

 

 

       Martha Louise Robb, 96, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday February 20, 2010 at Cornerstone Village, Pittsburg, KS.

       She was born April 14, 1913 at Lawrence, KS to David S. and Elsie Belle Watson Perkins. She attended Grant Elementary School, Lawrence, KS. Graduated from Tonganoxie High School, attended Kansas State College, and graduated from the University of Kansas 1966 at the age of 53.

       She married Ronald R. Robb November 19, 1933 in Lawrence, KS and he preceded her in death June 14, 2004.

       Mrs. Robb was a member of the First Methodist Church, Halstead, KS, long-time volunteer at Lawrence Memorial Hospital where all of her children were born.  She was an accomplished musician, amateur radio operator, doll collector, seamstress, and creator of minitiatures.

      She is survived by three sons, Allan D. and wife Janette, Fairfax, VA, R. Steven and wife Mary Beth, Pittsburg, and Curtis W. and wife Sandi, Newman, GA, one sister, Jean Winters, Perry, KS, one brother, Robert Perkins, Lawrence, three granddaughters, Julie Menhart, Plano, TX, Tina Crawford, Lawrence, KS, and Shawna Sterneker, Cunningham, KS, two grandsons, Timothy Robb, Fairbanks, AK, David Eckert, McPherson, KS, and eight great-grandchildren.

       Mrs. Robb was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Ronald Robb, daughter, Yvonne L. Eckert, granddaughter Jeanette Robb, three sisters, Mildred Smith, Velma Snyder, Frances Childs, and two brothers, Malcolm and Paul Perkins.

       The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at the Brenner Mortuary where friends may call after 12 P.M. Monday. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence, KS. Burial will be in the Memorial Park, Lawrence. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hines Hospice, these may be left or sent to the Brenner Mortuary 114 E. 4th Street, Pittsburg, Kansas 66762.
