Everett Votaw

Funeral services for Everett Votaw, 94, Eudora, KS will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Hesper Friends Church (south of Eudora).  Burial will follow in the Hesper Friends Cemetery.  He died September 13, 2010 at his home.

He was born March 31, 1916 in Eudora, Kansas, the son of Irvin and Myrtle (Hayes) Votaw.

Mr. Votaw worked as a farmer his entire life.  He raised cattle, pigs and other livestock.  He took care of the land that he was born on for over 94 years. 

He was a life member of the Hesper Friends Church.

He married Margarett H. Tennyson on November 20, 1943 in Lawrence, Kansas.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Wilson and husband, Larry of Eudora, KS; Gloria J. and husband, Jerry Kazmaier of Clinton, MO; one son, Alan Votaw and wife, Delores of Eudora, KS; nine grandchildren, Stan and wife, Tammy Wilson of Eudora, KS; Steven and wife, Megan Wilson of Baldwin City, KS; Jeff and wife, Shirlene Kazmaier; of Olathe, KS, Jim and wife, Tara Kazmaier of Gilmanton, NH; Jason and wife, Emily Kazmaier of Liberty, MO; Glenda and husband, Theron Hamm of Olathe, KS; Darrin Votaw of Lenexa, KS; Chris and wife, Jennifer Votaw of Olathe, KS;  Eric and wife, Ashli Votaw of Eudora, KS and  nineteen great-grandchildren.
 
His parents and six siblings preceded him in death.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m, Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel.

The family suggests memorials in his name to Hesper Friends Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
