Eva Waggoner

Funeral services for Eva Ann Waggoner, 89, Lawrence will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.  She died April 16, 2011 at Medicalodges in Eudora.
 

She was born April 4, 1922 in Eudora, Kansas the daughter of Walter P. and Ella M. (Miller) Brecheisen.

She worked for the Alumni Association at the University of Kansas, Weavers Department Store and for Sunflower Army Ammunition.  After her retirement in 1991 she sold Avon.

She was a member of Lawrence Heights Christian Church and played the organ.  She was also a member of the Business of Professional Women.

She married James S. Waggoner on October 3, 1942 in Reno, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2001.

Other survivors include two sons, Jim Waggoner and wife, Dianne, of Clay Center, KS, Rod Waggoner and wife, Debi, of Lawrence; two grandsons, Jeffrey Waggoner and wife, Tori and Ryan Waggoner.  She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.

The family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Crossroads Hospice or Medicalodges – Eudora Residents Activity Fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
