Dimple Avey

 Funeral services for Dimple Avey, 86, of Eudora, Kansas will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Mt. View, Arkansas.  Burial will be in the Levisy Flat Cemetery in Mt. View, Arkansas.

Mrs. Avey died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her daughters home in Eudora, Kansas.

She was born August 27, 1922 in New Nata, Arkansas the daughter of Andy and Ida (Long) Trammell. 

Mrs. Avey was a homemaker and had lived in the Mt. View, Arkansas area all her life until she moved to Eudora, Kansas 3 1/2 years ago.

She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist church in New Nata, Arkansas.

She was married to Willie J. Avey on January 12, 1939 in Mt. View, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death on July 12, 1966.

Survivors include two daughters, Delores Gabriel and husband Robert and Sharon Lawson and husband Ken, all of Eudora, Kansas; one son, Kennard Avey and wife Karen of Lawrence, Kansas and daughter-in-law, Lois Avey of Mountain View, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Tim Avey, Shawnua Lawson Stover, Shane Avey, Bobby Gabriel, Amanda Avey Grosdidier, Kendi Lawson Baker and Jim Gabriel; twelve great-grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan, Alexis, Tyler, Lacey, CJ, Kade, Lauren, Tucker, Carter, Rhett and Harley; one great-great grandchild, Lila.  Two sister-in-laws, Grace and Shirley Trammell and six nieces and 4 nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Jay and Everal Avey and two brothers, Ewing and Knuckles Trammell.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel in Eudora.  Visitation in Mt. View, Arkansas will be Thursday evening, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Mt. View, Arkansas. The family suggests memorial contributions to Timbo Assembly of God Church in Mt. View, Arkansas or to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association and may be sent % of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
