So sorry to hear about Dewey. I moved to Lawrence as a 9th grader in 1968 and the store was my home away from home. To this day, many of my closest friends from Lawrence are people I met at Richardson’s. We’ve lost too many. Condolences to all of the family and many many friends who hold very fond memories.

My condolences to Dewey’s family. Richardson Music was like Disneyland for me at age 13. He gave me some of my first guitar lessons…he was patient, gentle, encouraging and kind! Thanks and bless you, Dewey!

I remember Dewey so well and all of the memories are wonderful. He was once my Brother-in-Law. Although I had not seen him or any of his family for many years they were never far from my thoughts.
