I graduated Guthrie Center High School class of ’68 and played on the football team with Dave and always considered him a good friend. We had a lot of fun just being boys in a small town and we knew one another most our life’s there. Always looked forward to seeing him at our class reunions. I’m so very saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. God bless Dave and his family.

I, too, grew up with David from kindergarten to graduation in Guthrie Center, Iowa. As a youngster he delivered our newspaper early every morning. He will be missed by the Class of ’68 and we will be remembering him at our 45th Class Reunion this summer. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.

I considered Dave a friend many years ago when the family lived in Vinton, Iowa. My memories come from some great times that several of us shared with Dave in a duck blind on the Cedar River. God Bless Dave and his family. Bruce

He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather – a true family man. Seeing how he loved his grandchildren was always a pleasure. I think those things plus his smile and friendly way is what we will remember most about Dave.

    Scott & Steve,

Sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. It’s been a long time since you guys were around Vinton but I’ll always remember you from your dad’s time at the REC and from back when you lived on the farm between Vinton and Urbana. Your dad was always great with the Lyons kids and I know my parents thought a lot of your parents and the two of you. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.

I graduated with your dad & he was one of my closest friends in high school. Your dad’s smile is what i will remember and the gleam in his eye that usually meant mischief. We shared great memories @ class reunion time & Fogey will be missed by many. Your family is in our thoughts & prayers.
