To all the family of this wonderful guy …. I have such fond memories of Brad and the fun we had in high school and later on the softball fields as adults. He will be truly missed. Just know that Bruce and I are praying for you.

I can not tell you how many wonderful times I spent with Brad and his 3 sisters. The Newport and the Hime families would go to Thomas Hill Lake in Mo and go camping together. Brad and my brother Terry were terrors when they were little. My Mom babysat for the Hime family. We played ball in the back yard when we lived in Tulsa and they live in Broken Arrow OK. Then we live behind each other in Slater, MO. Sharlyn, Leah, and Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose your brother. I am crying so hard I can barely see to type. I love you all so much.

Justin, Jenny and Brandi-words just can’t express the sorrow I feel for you three right now. Your family is one of the first families I met way back when Justin and I were in the 1st grade. You by far, Justin, had the coolest parents. I would see your dad from time to time around town and he always had time to visit with me and I’m glad for those times. He truly will be missed by many. God bless you all.

Having moved to Eudora in 1982, Brad was one of the 1st friends I made.Played many years of softball and basketball with him. I have watched all of you kids grow up from infancy to adulthood. I have so many good memories of Brad, from going out and playing cards at the house to barbecue’s and even travelling to Indianapolis to watch our Jayhawks play Indiana. You all have been in my thoughts and prayers these past few days. Wish I could be there on Wednesday. Praying Jesus will comfort you and hold you in His arms.

I don’t look like him. In fact it was always fun to watch the reaction of people when I intrduced him as my brother. I don’t have any freckles. He had a couple. I am (well, was) scrawny, but for some reason, he still called me biggun’. I was the new kid and he already had kids. I was the victim of his father’s experience raising a son… and Brad was the one who said to me… “We ain’t step-nothin’!” Thanks, Brother.

Though we can’t imagine why a man like Brad could die so young, we can only hope to live a life that touches so many just as he did. His smile, his sincerity, his athleticism, his huge heart, and his legacy will forever remind us how lucky we are to have known him. The EHS Class of ’75 is lucky to have the memories he gave us. Play on Brad–your new team needs you! Greg and Candy Dardis

It seems way to soon to loose a wonderful man like Brad. I was always proud to have him call me Mom,and always pleased to say this is my son. He made his dad extremely proud, now they will be together again. It is so hard to go through these tough times,
but if you seek the Lord for comfort and guidance; you will find it. I love all of you and will see you Wed. Grandma Jeanie

Having known and worked with Brad at General Motors, since 1995, I know the world is going to miss him. He was a good soul, who treasured his family and friends as we treasured him. God takes him, to a better home, to be one of his angels. Smile knowing this, god is kind.

Mom and I were very saddened to learn of Brad’s sudden passing. My Uncle Virgil always had the highest respect for Brad and through Aunt Sharon we felt him part of our family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children, grandchildren, and Aunt Sharon. Words are so inadequate to describe our feelings at the loss for his family and friends. Edgarita and Joan Thomas
