A memorial mass for Daniel J. “Tucker” Blewitt, 60, Ft. Worth, TX will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, KS. Private inurnment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence. He died on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the James L. West Center in Ft. Worth. He had brain cancer.
He was born on July 2, 1949 in Topeka, KS. He grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1967. He attended two years at the Clark’s School of Business in Topeka.
Mr. Blewitt was a successful senior tax analyst for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in Ft. Worth for 41 years.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include: a brother, Tim Ryan, of Sandy, UT, two sisters, Teri Oberzan Hatfield, Lawrence, KS, Toasti Racy, of Abilene, KS and eleven nieces and nephews (Michael Racy, Raelyn Whitehair, Brett Oberzan, Kelly Jones, Kim Funston, Todd Oberzan, Kip Racy, Meghan Oberzan, Shea Ryan, and Alli Ryan). He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Matilyn Ryan.
The family suggests memorials in his name to the Community Hospice of Texas and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
