So sorry for your loss. I always remember Christy when your parents had the South Market. She always loved my little sister Sandi, they were the same age and I think she loved the fact that her name was the same as her beloved “big sister, Sandy”! Prayers to your family at this difficult time.

Christina was a beautiful person. I met Christina at the Baldwin Care Center, her room was next to my grandmother’s room. Christina often would give me hugs or yell “hi” when she would see me.
I’m sad thinking how much I will miss not seeing her beautiful soul with my next visit.
Yet the joy of those sweet moments will be remembered for a long time. Thank you, Christina! God bless.

    Debbie and Terry,
I am so sorry to hear of Christy’s passing. No one could ask for a more loving, caring family than she was blessed with. I think the Angel Choir will be a little louder tonight with her voice joining in! 😉 My prayers and condolences to all of you.

I went to school with Christie in Oberlin and remember her well. She was alway very kind to others, even when the painful comments from her classmates, who didn’t understand her uniqueness, was the response. She was rarely anything but happy and when her bubbly personality was broken, a simple ’Hi Christie!’ brought her cheerful smile back. I always wondered where she was & how she was and, although it is sad to hear of her passing, I am happy to know that she is now ’home’.

So sorry to hear of Christy’s passing. I went to school with Christy in Oberlin and always enjoyed her hugs at church and school. She was one of the most consistently happy people I’d met. Sending prayers to all the family.

To all of the Shobes: I was so sad to learn of Christy’s passing. I still remember the day at the Herald office when Debby told us that she had a new baby sister, then later when she told us of her problem. No child could ever have been more loved than that little angel. What a wonderful life she got to have with all of her wonderful family. She was indeed a very Special Child and Gift from Heaven.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Love, Mary Lou Olson

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Shobe Family. God gave a Special person, Christy, to a very loving & Special family. I remember Christy when some of us classmates of Donnie’s would go to the Shobe house to work on a rather boring school project. It wasn’t long before Christy was right in the middle of us all making us laugh. She is an Angel!

My heart goes out the Shobe family. Christy was a special daughter and a friend to all. I remember playing Barbies with her while Mom and Ann had their coffee and gossips. For those of us still on earth, we will miss Christy’s unconditional hugs, but Ann and Jesus will now receive them!

My family wants to express our sympathy for your loss. I remember Roy, Ann, and Christy visiting my grandma Bertha Shobe Kirby at her house in Bonner Springs and at my parents’ (Jess & Donna Johnson) house in DeSoto. We didn’t see each other often, but we enjoyed visiting whenever we could.
