Charlotte Joler

Funeral services for Charlotte Joyce Joler, 91, of Lawrence, Kansas will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.  Interment service will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2012 in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia, Kansas.
Mrs. Joler died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Windsor of Lawrence, Lawrence, Kansas.
She was born August 21, 1920, at the family farm in Republic County, Kansas, the daughter of Joy E. and Charlotte (Lewis) Carbutt.  She graduated from Belleville High School in 1937.
Mrs. Joler was a sales person working with her husband at Joler Real Estate in Concordia for many years.  They moved from Concordia to Lawrence in 1985 and continued in the real estate business until retiring in the early 1990’s.
She was a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Lawrence and in Concordia.  She was an artist.
She was married to Lewis (Jerry) Joler on January 22, 1944 in Salina, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on September 11, 2008.
Survivors include one daughter, Jan Jay and her husband, Paul of Harmony, Pa.; two sons, Ron Joler and his wife, Linda and Jeff Joler and his wife, Shana, all of Lawrence, Kansas; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  One brother, Lee Rexford Carbutt preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service on Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    Sorry to hear about your mother. I have a lot of memories about her and your dad from our over-night stays when we were in the 5th and 6th grade. She always fixed a big breakfast for us. I found out what goldrod eggs were!

    Our thoughts & prayers are with the Joler family today. We were saddened to see Joyce had passed on. My Dad Emmanuel Joler & his wife Kay had so many good times with Jerry & Joyce when they visited Maine. They will be in our harts and memories forever.
