Charles was a kind and wonderful person who treated me better than my own family. Charles had a wry sense of humor and made my life better for having known him. Charles, Fifi and Keith enabled me to complete my education in a manner and time frame I could not possibly have done otherwise. Charles often took me to KU basketball and football games; it was fun no matter what the score–at least in basketball. On one occasion Charles took me to a wine tasting and I remember that he aptly described one wine as “seawater.” Charles was a wonderful man who treated everyone in a way to which I aspire; he will be missed.
