Betty Crabb

The funeral service for Elizabeth “Betty” M. Crabb, 83, formerly of Moundridge, KS, will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge, KS.  Interment will follow at Eden Mennonite Cemetery.  She died December 21, 2009, at Presbyterian Manor, Lawrence.

The youngest of sixteen children, she was born February 10, 1926, in Moundridge, KS, the daughter of John J. and Elizabeth (Zerger) Goering.

Mrs. Crabb attended Bethel College in Newton, KS.  She was a homemaker and a piano teacher. 

She was a member of Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge, KS and had served as an accompanist there. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She married Harry Edward Crabb, on June 21, 1945, in Moundridge, KS.  He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Dr. R. Paul Crabb and wife, Ginny, Columbia, MO; two daughters, Janeal Crabb Krehbiel and husband, Randall K., Lawrence, and Marilyn Epp, and husband, E. Laverne, Lawrence; a brother, Lloyd V. Goering, Hesston, KS; seven grandchildren, Melissa Krehbiel, Heather McDonough, Tyler Epp, Paul Epp, Susie Epp, Erin Crabb, Lindsey Crabb; and three great grandchildren, Grace, Brooke and Griffin McDonough.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Heart of America Hospice or the Lawrence Children’s Choir in Lawrence, the Eden Church Chancel and Men’s Choirs and Voices of Prometheus of Columbia, MO.  These memorial may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS.
