Betty Williams

Memorial services for Betty Carol Williams, 65, Lawrence will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August, 24, 2011 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  She died August 19, 2011 at her home.

She was born on August 8, 1946 in Lawrence the daughter of William R and Olive (Keefer) Meairs.   

She worked as an assistant to several local doctors.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary.

She married Charles “Vern” Williams on March 14, 1965 in Lawrence, KS.  He preceded her in death on February 3, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorie Williams; Susan Moszeter and her husband, Tym; a brother, William R. Meairs, Jr. all of Lawrence; five grandchildren, Megan Moszeter, Mason Kerns, Cassie Mayer, Taylor and Lindsey Moszeter.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Kansas Dialysis Services and may be sent in care of the mortuary. 

The family will greet friends following the service.

    I met Betty in HS. Memories have come flooding back of the fun times we had together.I spent overnights at her house and was very fond of her parents.We stayed in touch through e-mail after we moved to Colo.Spgs. So very sorry for your loss of this special woman. Shirley

    She will be missed. She always made me feel at home with you and your family. I will always remember her when I make the frog eye salad, since she introduced me to it and gave me the recipe. She will be an Angel watching over you all. You are in my prayers.
