
Graveside services for Barbara Jean Bright Zimmerman, 83, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 25, at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Eudora. Mrs. Zimmerman died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Lawrence, the daughter of Ralph E. and Delta Swain Bright.
She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, and she was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She married Robert H. Zimmerman on Dec. 27, 1947, in Lawrence. The couple owned and operated Zimmerman Hardware, which later became Coast to Coast Hardware, at 19th and Massachusetts streets, for 46 years.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; her son and daughter-in-law, Alan Zimmerman and Caroline Trowbridge, Lawrence; her granddaughter, Sarah Zimmerman, Lawrence; and her brother, Robert R. Bright, Lawrence.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, sent in care of the funeral home, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence KS 66044.
