Ardell Nathan

Funeral Services for Ardell Arthur Nathan, 77, Lawrence, will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Madison, NE. Mr. Nathan died January 11, 2011 at his home.

He was born May 28, 1933 in Madison, NE, the son of Arthur Otto and Gladys Agnes (Bartak) Nathan.

Mr. Nathan attended Madison High School and then Sioux Empire Junior College in Hawarden, Iowa.

Ardell served in the US Air Force from 1952 – 1965, where he served in Greenland and all over the United States including Pensacola. Upon his retirement from active service he joined the Iowa National Guard in the early 1990’s.

Following his retirement from the Military Ardell worked as a railroad clerk for Chicago Northwestern from 1965 until he retired in 1994.

He was member of the Madison VFW and was an avid Nebraska football fan.

He married Charlita Facto Faderes on April 12, 2004 in Lawrence, KS. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include; three daughters, Terri Neibaur, Saratoga Springs, Utah, Sandy McClary, Delano, TN, Cecilia Paez, Lawrence, KS; six sons, Steve Nathan and Rich Nathan, Jestoni Mijares all of Lawrence, KS, Rick Nichols, Phoenix, AZ, Randy Nathan, Jacksonville, FL, and Arthur James Nathan, Green River, WY; twenty-two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday and from 5:00 p.m. until service time on Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
