Michael “Mike” Hilton Schwartzburg

A Jam Session Celebration will be held after the New Year (date TBD) for Michael “Mike” Hilton Schwartzburg, 63, Lawrence. He passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

He was a musician, entertainer and everybody’s best friend. Some of his favorite things included playing music, spending time in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, eating candy bars and ice cream with his grandkids, lovin’ on his wife and hanging out with all of his best friends.

Mike was born in Miami Beach, Florida the son of Frederick Digby and Patricia Ruth (Hilton) Schwartzburg. He lived in Atlanta in his early childhood days and then spent his formative years in Barrington, Illinois. He graduated from Barrington High School.

He is survived by his loving wife Diane Alita Cooper. He is also survived by his daughters, Jessie, Chelsea and Megan and sons-in-law Paul, Peter and Joe Bob. Other survivors include his father, F. Digby “Big Dig” and siblings Deb, Karen and Jim. He was Papa to six grandkids, Ossie, Solie Jo, Crosby, Cruz, Styles and Smith. They brought out his inner child and he loved spoiling them with toys, sweets and instruments. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug and mother, Patty.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Visiting Nurses Association and sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
