Claude “Buddy” Landon III

A visitation for Claude “Buddy” Landon III, 75 of Le Feria, TX formerly of Lawrence, KS will be held 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS. He died November 29, 2017 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Inurnment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors.

Buddy was born November 11, 1942 in Lawrence, KS the son of Claude B. Landon, Jr. and Edna Bryant Landon.

After he graduated from high school he joined the Army where he was stationed in Washington State during the Vietnam Era.

After serving his country, he worked as a Pressman for Kansas Color Press then as an operator for the Garage Door Group. He loved fishing, gardening, and loved a perfect yard.

He married Anna Darlene Hess and had 3 sons. They later divorced, then he married Shirley Landon. Shirley preceded him in death.

He is survived by his three sons, Douglas Landon, Michael Landon and John Landon a daughter in-law Amy Landon; five grandchildren, Brian Landon, Travis Landon, Justin Landon, all of Lawrence, Amanda Dacy, Texas and Danielle Clark, Lawrence and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
